It’s hard to break free from diet culture alone!
The Quit Your Diet Community is for anyone who’s ready to ditch toxic beliefs about food, weight, and “wellness.”
When you learn to respect your body instead of trying to police it, your whole world opens up.
Maybe you KNOW a lot about intuitive eating and body acceptance, but you’re struggling to put it into practice.
The truth is, understanding the facts is only step one of ditching diet culture.
Learning all about intuitive eating, Health at Every Size®, and body liberation can be exhilarating.
You read Intuitive Eating and think, “YES! This makes so much sense!”
You listen to the new episode of Maintenance Phase as soon as it comes out, and you find yourself nodding along and laughing out loud.
But then you try putting it all into practice…
…and you’re stuck.
That’s so, SO normal!
Most people come to me KNOWING a lot about intuitive eating and how terrible diets are.
But they’re having a hard time APPLYING that knowledge.
Believe it or not, you’re NOT the only one wondering…
★ How can I “listen to my body” when it’s not SAYING anything?
★ What if all my friends are still obsessed with diets and weight loss?
★ I’m bingeing on certain foods — wasn’t that supposed to stop?
★ I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to accept my body — is that normal?
★ Should I try one last diet before I give this a try? (Spoiler: No)

Lots of “experts” pay lip service to intuitive eating and food freedom, but still highlight mostly thin bodies and talk about “good” and “bad” foods
In the Quit Your Diet community, we fight against that.
This is a space where you can learn about intuitive eating AND body liberation.
We don’t just talk about finding food freedom.
We also talk about systemic issues like weight stigma, elitism, and white supremacy — because all of these things GET IN THE WAY of you being able to listen to your body.
Truthfully, it’s impossible to Quit Your Diet without understanding all this.
As one person (with considerable privilege), I only know so much. So, I highlight the work of other experts, creators, and activists.
This community isn’t about following a rigid framework to find food freedom.
It’s about unlearning everything that diet culture has taught you, and slowly learning a better way to live that works for you.
About Me:
I’m Christine Byrne (she/her), MPH, RD, LDN, an anti-diet dietitian nutritionist and longtime nutrition journalist based in Raleigh, NC.
I help adults break free from orthorexia, an unhealthy obsession with “healthy” eating.
It should come as no surprise that I wasn’t always anti-diet.
I spent years working in food media and writing articles about “clean eating” and all kinds of other diets. It took a while to unlearn diet culture’s rules and to abandon its garbage values — thinness, restriction, good and bad foods, “discipline,” etc.
The hardest part was: Somewhere along the way, diet culture’s values had kind of become my values.
It was hard to know where diet culture ended and my own thoughts began.
With good professional help and several years of unlearning, I was able to divest myself (and my identity) from diet culture and all its toxic messages about “wellness.”
I became an anti-diet dietitian because I know how helpful the right guidance can be.
I know it’s possible to quit diet culture. I’ve done it, and I help others do it every day.
That’s really what Quit Your Diet is about — unlearning bad “wellness” advice and figuring out a better way to care for yourself.
I take an anti-diet, Health at Every Size®-aligned approach. I never encourage weight loss, and I talk a LOT about body acceptance and body respect.

The Quit Your Diet Community isn’t a substitute for individual nutrition counseling or therapy, but it can be a great addition.
I started the Quit Your Diet Community for one main reason: Because I know that anti-diet work is easier when you’re not going it alone.
Many of my clients leave our sessions buzzing with energy, then realize that the people in their life are still totally invested in diet culture.
The community is a place where likeminded folks can connect on their journey towards intuitive eating and body liberation. I’m there to start discussions, post helpful articles and videos, and offer support in the forums.
If you’re currently working with a dietitian and/or a therapist, the Quit Your Diet community can be fantastic addition to that work.
